DOPOD M700 USER GROUP

Postby storrm » Mon Sep 17, 2007 3:13 pm

It seems that we have a line of M700 users nowadays. Just thought why not set up a user group forum to share experiences and problems (so far so good on this device) on M700. Anyone interested just post on this topic and have it watched. Hopefully we can know how many ppl are using M700 to date.

Welcome aboard!

In other news.....i've installed wm6 on the 700. Two problems so far, wm6 doesn't include a phone pad....which really sucks cuz i use it exclusively when typing. And...no audio booster....i'm looking around for solutions at the moment. For those interested, first get this file

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311403

Get the manual as well. Follow the instructions and patch your pda. Next, get this file.

http://rapidshare.com/files/36604651/Ar ... e.zip.html

This will install wm6 for you.

Once installed, download and install activesync 4.5 and you're all set. I've experienced no hanging or bugs of any kind so far, but then again i've only just installed it, time will tell i suppose. Cheers.

Eheh i'm gonna be the self appointed guinea pig, but i need some help at this point. I found a phonepad and bass booster program that should work with WM6 but i don't know how to install it, its not a self executing cab file. Its a bunch of files that includes an "XML setup" file. Its here :-

http://rapidshare.com/files/36375322/PhonePad.rar

Any ideas Storrm?

Ok apparently i've been unzipping the files once i've downloaded them when i should be moving them directly tot he ppc and running them from there.

Phonepad for wm6 :-

Bass booster for wm6 :-

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=328493

Both programs haven't been tested. Hope to give a report soon. Cheers.

Both the above programs don't work. But this phonepad here does :-

http://buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com ... 90,page=10

Scroll down and get phonepad_atom_wwe.zip

Tried a bunch of mp3 players with equalizers and none of them comes close to the original Audiobooster, which is disappointing. Both SKTOOLS 3.066 and Tweaks2k2.net 3.24 work with wm6. After 1 day of use and trying out different softwares my launchtray started going crazy on me, wouldn't display the icons properly, reinstalled and so far so good.

Anybody else trying out wm6? Chime in.

Nice. What rom are you using? I tried one from XDA and it couldn't even boot up, had to enter boot load and reflash from original.

I am using Touch 2.1 WM6 WWE Full ROM by meschle. It comes with Touch Flo and many software included. You can find it at xda forum.

So far so good and i found that the bundled software are just perfect.

Hi Jeff, welcome aboard, good to hear you got a m700, not too many of us out there. Before you try wm6 i'd just like to say it voids your warranty so try at your own risk. You'll need two files on your pc. Download and install activesync 4.5 and go to dopodasia.com and get the official(upgraded) m700 rom. Thats just in case things go wrong.

Next, run your upsl, from what i understand upsl allows you to reflash your rom without unlocking it. And it works. If you try and flash your rom before upsl you'll get an error message.

Once upsl's done go ahead and run the wm6 program. It should run without a hitch. There are many versions of wm6 made by enthusiasts for the m700 (artemis), my link just points you to one version. If you'd like to browse around go here

http://forum.xda-developers.com/

and check out what they have for the artemis. Storrm is trying out a HTC touch rom at the moment.

Wm6 doesn't come with a phonepad or audiobooster, if you need a phonepad go here :-

http://buzzdev.net/index.php?option=com ... 90,page=10

Scroll down and get phonepad_atom_wwe_zip. This phonepad works. *EDIT* Audiobooster works. Get the cab file in this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308773

If things go wrong........you've flashed your rom, but it can't even boot up right. Here's what you do. You need to enter boot load mode. Hold your power and voice commander buttons (top right, top left) and do a soft reset. You'll see red blue and green on your screen. Plug in your usb, activesync won't be connected but just ignore it. While connected through the usb just run the dopodasia rom and it'll flash your rom.

One more thing, i've tried tweaks2k2 and sktools with the wm6 and they tend to screw up the os IF you mess around with the registry - cleaning...optimizing etc. My programs were outdated though, later versions should work fine.

As an added convenience, download this file :-

http://www.mymobiler.com/

It allows you to control your pda from your desktop.

Cheers

Thanks Indy. Really appreciate yr descriptive explanation. It seems like quite comfortable with steps given. What i worried is the warranty voids
in case anything happens....touch wood lah...'coz my unit only 2 months old.
Anyway will cross my finger & give a try..

Thank you...
