Unofficial Centro Thread & User List

Postby ebernie » Sun Apr 13, 2008 9:35 pm

How about it? A recent trip to PC Fair proved to be an expensive one. An unexpected buy made me a Centro user :)

Let's keep this thread related to Palm's Centro as well as maintain the traditional user list.

1. ebernie (white)
2. drafunt
3. tehjiao
4. palmdoc
5. wcycafe
6. jimmyay x 2 (one for wife ;))
7. bigfoot
8. Lanujang
9. cschong2
10. ycsc001
11. frez
12. Watchman
13. mrducky
14. hspace
15. sonyclie77

Anyone knows where I can get a decent screen protector for the thing? And maybe a case? Currently using a Bagman handphone case on sale for RM 10 during PC Fair.

Update: Looks like Docs To Go v10 is provided as a free download.

Yes yes. :D

Got really tired of missing appointments*, very slow responses when typing, waiting 5 seconds for the today screen to render, waiting 3 seconds before my phone would ring, no response when I hit the hang up button in a call, and all of that other non-sense from a multitasking OS.

*I kept missing appointments because I shudder every time I have to key in something due of the UI and sluggishness. End up I don't enter stuff as I used to so these things remain as 'stuff'. And don't get me started about the alarms (Just an option to dismiss or snooze? Come on, I wanna edit the damn thing).

What a load of crap. Palm (with a 5 year old OS) rulez!

You got me. I was actively practicing GTD right until I tried a Windows Mobile.

Never used a Treo 680. My earlier Treo was a 270. The Centro's keypad doesn't compare to it though, actually, nothing did. :)

But of course, the Centro's keypad is still workable. Ask me again in a few month's time. I'll need to see if I can grow into it.

an add me in the list. Had a littel bit of problem with the Centro initially. Nope it is not the phones fault....just my Celcom sim card is too old. When I place it in the Centro, it freezes. Thank you to Mr YeapCH advice I got the sim upgraded and now the phone is perfect!
Was really worried about the size but after awhile it is very easy to type in with the tiny keyboard. The touch screen is a little bit less sensitive but it works just aswell. Cant compare to the Treo line since this is my first smartphone but the personally am enjoying it!!

Love the size myself. Can't believe I'm holding such a small phone compared to the older Treos!

Sidenote: I tested EDGE and MMS on DiGi and both works fine :)

Insert the CD that was provided and then look for a URL for bonus software. It links to a Beta 'My Palm' page which has DTG10 and a bunch of other stuff. You'll need your Centro's serial number (it's on your box and also the sticker behind the CD envelope.

besides, quite disappointed with Palm, come on, Palm! What's this mono ear phone? Micro SD without a SD adapter? all these won't cost you much but it's sweat to see it in the box. And now? Sigh.... Palm is irritating its own die hard fans/customers.....

Mono headphone? I think a regular 2.5mm adapter would get you stereo sound.

well I mean the included handfree is mono and nnot stereo handfree.well it's a pain that it's 2.5mm jack but not 3.5mm audio jack on centro. besides i:m using centro blazer browsing this forum and typing reply. not bad but ooera mini is much better. my big thumbs are able to type quite correctly just bit tired as not used to this small size QWERTY keypad
