If you're connected wirelessly to your modem, the testmy.net website doesn't give accurate information.

The jaring one is better..

just fyi...
I use a MacMini, you use PC.

I have tested using jaring one and the first result was 894kbps and test a few time later, it only shown from 640 to 771 ....it this consider normal,or something wrong with my line because i had a hard time everytime i need to connect to streamyx the dsl light only will stable after 10 minutes.

Hi Guys
I think the speed /bandwidth test is between tmnet and your ADSL Modem depending where your location is. With my Streamyx Hotspot@Home 512kb Aztech ADSL Modem in Sg. Buloh, and using TMNet test at Brickfields http://202.188.95.52:8080/speedometer/ I get download and upload speed at 535.96kb. However, I get 319 kb for "international" bandwidth speed. I guess there are many factors affecting this lesser speed eg, internet traffic, packets transference speed through the internet. Try http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/

wooikok wrote:yup...i kinda like the Jaring test..fast and simple and give me "good scores"....huhuh...hiding behid lies?...but oklah....TMnut's test takes time...long time...the other day when my friend's streamyx Rm88 went bonkers...we called up to complain..so the "smart"guy over the other end of the customer service "asked"/demanded we do the test from the tmnet's site...so we did it..for 3 times...imagine my poor friends's speed that time was 44kbps ...pathetic even worst than dialup...so we did it..till 3rd time..and it took HALF an HOUR..the guy...finally endorse it and recorded the complain and gave a referrence number..one week later only got the line up...now 460+kbps ..still slower than mine..??think i'll ask my friend to bug them again and again and again....:)..:0...

wooikok, if you experience a bad service from TMNut's. There is a consumer forum you can make complain (http://www.cfm.org.my/indexenglish.jsp), very very very efficiency.

http://www.auditmypc.com/internet-speed-test.asp

this claims to be really acurate, and as for the 10+ times ive ran it - it is! requires java

Also to all of you bear in mind download rates drop if the source like the servers or line is from outside the southeastasian backbone network, its normal and dependent on the backbone congestio(not too much of a problem)

U have got the 1M package since your download speed is 1024k.

However, actual usage speed varies, and usually much lower than that.

How do I get my bit torrent client to work on my newly installed adsl high speed service? I had dial up internet access and my bit torrent client worked but too slowly. Now with my newly upgraded adsl high speed internet access they don't work at all.Nothing seems to work.If anyone has an idea what's happening, please share. Thanks in advance.
