P2P issue with JW

Postby acbc » Sun Apr 24, 2005 8:54 am

Seems JW has some issues with P2P.

The Somaport 300 will either slows down or reboot itself when running apps such as Shareaza, LimeWire, eMule or BitComet.

Hhmm... no torrents for me. Just a big pipe for browsing... should have opt for the 512k package instead.

No problem for me. I m using Azureus. But it seems slower compare using streamyx to download with same speed. Not sure is the location problem or they limit the bandwith for P2P.

I can't seem to do multiple uploads... which is required by P2P software. The unit will slows down n reboot itself.

Heck, even multiple FTP file transfer will affect the unit. I wonder is it is faulty?

Try others P2P software. See any problem or not. I even run emule and azerues together. But the speed will slow down.

Limewire seems OK but unit still stops or hang by itself after running such apps.

NM... now that Telekom is always in my area... hopefully Streamyx will arrive at the same time. But knowing Telekom... it will take months or maybe years.

Streamyx are more stable than JW. Apply it if your area ve. I using streamyx to download at office and JW at home. But streamyx is much more faster and stable.

Jaring....Well , it drops connection...Its programmed to drop p2p connections. Jaring states that they block p2p. It clearly shows that Somaport drops the connection. About a week ago , JARING upgraded the somaport's firmware and now it allows up to 1024 connections. Your p2p speed should be still fine !

actually p2p is commit the basic copyright, so seem that jaring is slowly taking some steps to tackle it.
