Wow man, today I tried to put the modem outside the balcony.

Guess what, the speed is up to even 1M.

Impressive. Now got to think of practical way to leave the modem outside.

Intresting Facts

1. The Somaport runs Linux Kernel 2.4.xx series. That means it could routing , but its protected by JARING. I dont know why...I am still trying to find a way in...

2. The Somaport has the power to 'pick up' signals within a 10km radius [up to 250Kbps /10km]. I have tested in Klang...Its still possible..But in City Centers , I am not too sure , I am staying 'Off Coverage' and still could signal..Pretty impressed with Jaring Wireless

How to check on whether the modem firmware has been updated?

Thanks.

Come on man, why do you choose this topic for assignment when you have no idea about it?

Adventurous?

Correct me if I am wrong. It works as WiMax. More info.

Don't think you have searched the Jaring site thoroughly.

The configuration is quite simple. Here it is.

Hi,

I heard before on the traveling with SOMA modem around in town with the car charger. Anyone have done that, care to share where to get the adapter for the car?

Thanks.
