I presume you're referring to their residential wireless broadband service?

(a) beware the 3Gb data transferred limit, this includes upload and download

(b) beware "hidden" charges such as forced services which cannot be cancelled, etc

(c) beware indiscriminate billing, some users have experienced pleasant experiences with their first bill

yesss beware all of the above...

but here is a few tips.... you can cancel the waived home voice service and you can ask them to cancel the itemised billing.. :D
This is a sign of a sign that was not signed at the time of signning :P

Wow, didn't know there are so many "hidden" items. So in other words, it's not worth or rather TM Nut is still better?

The maxis broadband NO GOOD. period. I got billed for RM224.00 even before my trial period expires. It's ridiculous, cos u know its on trial basis. Anyway, i tested it, the line disconnects frequently. Not suitable for torrent downloaders.

It's 3G limit not 2GB... so per day is about 100MB. OK la... for chat email and youtube.

http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/broadband/termncon.asp

I signed up... speed is relatively good.

Here is my speed results (I used tmnet's speed test)
http://219.93.175.234:8080/speedometer/ ... hspeed.jsp

882.88 kbps which is way beyond the 768kpbs package i subscribed... i guess they are not limiting bandwidth yet... better use more...

will update more when 30 day risk free guarantee is close to over... it's not free trial.... u have to pay one...

I just got my 30 days trial last Tue. Already 2 days and I found so many probs with the stupid modem!

1. Slower broadband speed than my E61!
2. Overheated battery cause the modem to auto reset every 5 mins.
3. Modem kept 'hanging' for no reason.
4. My area is listed as 3G on the E61 but the modem only detects EDGE. WTF?
5. Lousy customer service, same if not worse than TMnet! Jaring still the best but somehow they are not going anywhere with JWB.
6. Connection is very unstable. I can't browse websites for more than 2 mins or download anything faster than 7KB/sec.

Overall, I'm NOT going to keep it...

Maxis = Useless huge company with hopeless technology plus rotten customer support!

I tried it for 3 weeks in Damansara, Seremban and Puchong. In Damansara where it suppose to have full broadband speed, it is still slower than Streamyx. In Seremban, it was on 3G, slow and unstable. In Puchong (Saujana Putra), 3G speed also, stability better than Seremban.

Returned it 2 days ago and was told by customer service that an EARLY return fee might be reflected in my next Maxis bill and I was to call them to waive it. Some system screw up apparently. Imagine getting billed for returning the modem early!!
