Posting via Izzi's network now. Speed quite decent. Will try to do a review later when I am in the mood.

Pssst - they haven't throttled P2P yet

Can someone post bandwidth test results from TestMY?

Signed up for the IzziPro, one major reason - the antenna. Not much portability though.

Signal reported by the connection manager while connected via USB (connecting via the Ethernet port doesn't work) is around 70-80% in my area, but only accessible at the back of the house.

Average download speed from megaupload premium is around 120-130KB/s, slightly slower than Celcom HSDPA (when it used to work )

70%-80% signal only... hmmm maybe your area is far from base station perhaps.

They should do some 30-day free trial...

The problem with this service is you need to pay a one year subscription upfront. What the f***

What if the service is not reliable ? Then one year subscription goes down the drain. I really don't know about this company's track record

Depends on two factors:
1. Frequency of operation... E.g., iburst in Australia runs on 1.9GHz. Here in Malaysia, it's at 1.7GHz. If the modems are manufactured with the same RF filter, frequency shouldn't be an issue. However, given the 200Mhz gap, it may not be cost effective or practical (form factor issues) to fit the same RF filter into modems with different frequencies of operation. An RF sifu can help clarify on this matter, since I'm not a certified radio engineer. hehe

2. User ID registration / locking
In any proprietary wireless solution, the modem is locked to the operator. I.e., every modem that is sold by iZZi has a user identifier hard-wired into it. You normally won't be able to use it on another operator's network unless there's a roaming agreement between the two.

It's highly unlikely a one-size-fits-all solution exists for anyone anywhere on this planet, actually. It all depends on your unique circumstances and requirements. So if you're willing to share those with us, then perhaps we can give you some suggestions.

On a related note, I see that my statement below in an earlier post has caused some confusion:

Signal reported by the connection manager while connected via USB (connecting via the Ethernet port doesn't work) is around 70-80% in my area, but only accessible at the back of the house.

When I meant "...(connecting via the Ethernet port doesn't work)...", I meant to say that the connection manager software doesn't function if you're connected via Ethernet; it's not an IP based application. The connection manager only works if you're connected via the USB port, so you can only check the signal strength reported by the IzziPro device when connected through the USB port, not the Ethernet port.

When I have sufficient motivation, I'll hook my wireless router to it for testing. The folks at Izzi claim that only a couple of routers work with the device, but based on my experience, I'm not too sure about this claim

Finally, when I asked the sales folks during their roadshow at Digital Mall PJ, they sheepishly replied that many of those who signed up were expatriates who couldn't be bothered to wait for a wired Telekom line to get Streamyx. And they signed up less than 15 customers in the close to two week period they were there. I guess this goes to show how confident the general public is on this offering. Or maybe their marketing just suck. I don't know...:D
