Edoras, I think you need to check again what's wrong with ur connection there. I just downloaded a game software with 205MB of file size and the process takes less than 1 hr 47 mins to complete. The average data transfer rate is about 379kbps (with 5% overhead factor considered). I'm sure there is a latency during the transfer process, but anyway, my data link usage is 41% of 921.6kbps. So, by calculation, the average data transfer rate should be 377.856kbps constant.

Nowadays my downloads are ok... but my upload speed is bad. I'm frequently posting my photos to the Fotopages and its really slow. I need to resize to 600 pixel.

Somehow, in the past few days, i got maximum bars for my 3G. Previously, i only hv 1 or 2 bars only...

Weird - i hv not made any changes to my settings. I think, there are already more 3G users in my area probably ..

Well, Celcom has upgraded its 3G network in my places since early September this year. Lets take Giant Bdr Puteri, Puchong for example, Celcom has installed indoor 3G cell for that hypermarket in-building coverage. Celcom's GSM/GPRS network is very very bad there, same for Maxis and DiGi. I think Celcom only concerns about its 3G coverage lately and they've stopped upgrading GSM/GPRS network unless there's a demand for it.

I was so surprised that my phone shows max full bar (100%) indoor in Giant Puchong on Celcom 3G while all other networks (Celcom GSM, Maxis GSM & 3G, DiGi) all having difficulties to get more than 50% signal strength indoor.

Which part in Penang are you to get this kind of speed? Indoors or outdoors? If so, I also want Celcom 3G.

Celcom 3G content needed

Postby joshlim » Tue Dec 13, 2005 12:11 pm

If anyone here knows how to extract 3G content from the Celcom 3G mobile portal (3gp, jpg,mp3, etc) , could you call me at 012-3119141 or an e-mail at josh.lim@josh.com.my? I have a quick, urgent job that requires that.

What, this isn't the hacking place? Damn! No, actually, the need is very much legit and official :) You're welcome. My number's also published on my website, making it even more convenient for all my hot female stalkers. Sigh. Seriously, anyone with doubts as to the legitimacy of my request can give me a call. Maybe even you?

Same thing, no? Well, whichever way - its basically to be edited to be used as content for a client-comissioned website. Its faster this way than requesting and waiting for the materials. And there'll need to be some format conversion (to FLV, mov).

Why not subscribe to Celcom3G?
What's the difference between Celcom's 3gp, mp3, jpg and other operators?
Nowadays there are so many contents like this except that Celcom's contents are copyrighted and probably hv DRM.

Please be aware that transfering ownership of copyrighted materials is not allowed at anytime. There is no way you can play or view 3G content without direct connection to their proxy server using your 3G mobile phone. None of the contents can be downloaded, played or stored for future use. You need to be connected to the network in order to get real-time preview of the video clip or music files. If anyone wish to dowload MP3s from their musicstation, a fee of RM 3.50 will be charged to your mobile account. Can anyone (non-Celcom's 3G customer) obtain those content for free? I'm sure you don't want to get yourself into trouble with Celcom nowadays. They have a case recently with MCAT, which is a licensed content provider and got itself into trouble when dealing with Celcom on content matter. If you need content for any reasons, please write to Celcom (M) Bhd or Celcom Mobile Sdn Bhd to get their permission.

Celcom's 3G Internet connection problem will put to an end after they launched 3G service for prepaid mobile. It is expected to launch this service within few days time.
